Program in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI) Systems

In recent years, the banking industry has evolved radically, driven by changes in the business and economic environment and in competitive pressures. Such changes have stimulated and often out-paced technological developments. Today, due to the extent of Core Banking Solution and technology based products, the ability to generate, capture and store data has increased enormously in the Indian banks. The information contained in this data can be very important. Yet in spite of the breadth of information that banks collect about their customers and transactions, it is rarely used to its true potential in strategic and tactical decision-making. Information often lies in information "silos" of different departments that severely limit the bank's ability to use it on an enterprise scale. A managerial and technological solution to this challenge is to build and implement a data warehouse. Enterprise wide data warehouse and business intelligence systems will assist banks not only in meeting their regulatory requirements but also to develop robust systems in crucial areas like Risk Management and Customer Relationship Management.

In view of this, this program helped the participants to understand the concepts of data warehousing and BI. It also gave them hands-on experience on BI technology in select business cases. The program is aimed at Middle and Senior Executives of the bank, both from IT and other functional areas.
